Fair4All Finance: turning a complex site into a clear, helpful hub
Fair4All Finance do a lot for financial inclusion. Their old site did a lot too… maybe a bit too much. Great content, but it had grown like a jungle. Our brief: make it crystal clear who the site is for, help people find what they need fast, and keep everything on brand.
What we were solving
- Multiple audiences with very different needs: policy makers, community finance providers, journalists and partners
- Brilliant reports and resources that were hard to surface
- Accessibility and performance that needed tightening
- A publishing flow that relied on a developer for simple updates
What we built
Discovery that mapped to intent. We audited the content and rebuilt the information architecture around what people actually come to do: Learn, Partner, Get funding/support, Research & insights.
A tidy component library in Elementor. Reusable blocks for hero + intro, resource grids, impact stats, quotes and more. Editors can assemble pages quickly and everything stays on brand.
A resource library people can actually use. Faceted search by topic, format and date, plus clean resource pages with related items to keep readers exploring.
Accessibility by design. Colour contrast, focus states, sensible tab order, heading hierarchy and ARIA baked into components rather than added as an afterthought.
Serious speed gains. Image compression, font subsetting, server-side caching and lazy loading. We removed heavy add-ons and replaced them with leaner equivalents.
Why it works
- Visitors instantly see where they fit and where to click next
- Editors can publish with confidence without calling a developer
- The design system keeps everything consistent as the site grows
Results
- Clearer journeys: bounce rate down, time on resource pages up (per client analytics)
- Faster publishing: landing pages in minutes using the block patterns
- Accessible by default: templated pages pass automated WCAG checks
- Future-proofed: documentation and components keep standards high
